New Bill Threatens to Raise Online Gambling Tax in New Jersey

Senate Bill 3064 was formally introduced on 8 April. The bill was referred to the Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee. If approved it would take effect on 1st January 2024.
For internet casino, New Jersey current has one of the lowest tax rates and 30 igaming sites currently active. The enactment of the bill would signify a 30% GGR which would be among the highest in the US.
New Jersey’s gambling revenue in 2023 hit a staggering $5.78bn – a new record.
